STUDIO COHAKU is a design studio founded by Kunikazu Hamanishi and Tatsuro Kuroda, primarily
focusing on interior and product design.
They proactively engage with materials and
technologies through hands-on work, connecting the knowledge and ideas gained through
prototyping and testing to actual projects. Rather than separating research and implementation,
thinking and production, they engage in various initiatives by continuously moving back and
forth between judgment and design.
Toclas Corporation is a manufacturer of residential equipment, primarily kitchens and bathrooms. Its roots in kitchen manufacturing can be traced back to the production of high-end furniture in 1903 (at the time, Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd., now Yamaha Corporation). While producing custom-made furniture and undertaking interior construction work, Toclas gained a reputation for its excellent woodworking techniques and commitment to the highest quality. Subsequently, through its system furniture business, it further refined its woodworking and painting techniques. Inheriting this technical DNA, Toclas now handles everything in-house, from the development of artificial marble materials to manufacturing, including advanced manufacturing techniques such as hand-painting. Toclas’ core strengths are its quality design based on long-term use and its continuous and stable product supply system.
